Final season ever... I loved seeing Dr. Green again last week and can't wait to see what the future episodes bring. I would REALLY love to see them bring Clooney and Julianne back for an episode or 10.

Yep, Carter's going to show up. I think only for 1 episode, but I'd love to see him do more.
I enjoyed seeing Mark too. Dr. Green to Carter in the ambulance bay when Mark was leaving after his last day... "You set the tone, Carter." I don't know why but I love that line every time I see it. We didn't know it at the time, but he was passing the torch to Carter, who became the lifeline of that ER.
What about Elizabeth Korday, will she make an appearance? And Dr. Lewis. If Dr. Ross comes back, will Carol be with him, still married?
I thought it was funny to see Green, Weaver & Romano looking like their older, present-day selves when they were supposed to be portraying their past selves.

Romano was a surprise! At least to me.. I would so love to see Korday come back and Dr Lewis too! This is exactly what dh and I were doing last Thursday:
"what about so and so.. and ohhh rememeber this one and that one".... LOL
They really should ALL come back for the finale. Dr Ross and Carol.. So familiar but give me more hints!
Remember the "live" episode? My tv ran off the vcr and my vcr had died a few days before.. I actually went shopping at around 8 that night to get a new vcr and had to rush home to hook it up.. I couldn't get it figured out on my own and actually called my EX to talk me through it so I could watch that episode! hahaha

So I love this show. I've been watching only for 2 years and only on DVD, past seasons. It's funny to read this thread as everyone you mention is still on the show LOL.

I watched last nights and it was ALL screwed up. it kept going out, getting pixelized and all kinds of crap You would think the LAST season they would try to make sure the stuff worked. We have crappy TV stations. always going off the air. I read that susan will NOT be back. She cut ties along time ago. and my mind is so bad I cant remember what else I read... LOL Heck, BR cried when greg died. I hate teh idea of it not being there anymore. This show has been in my life for longer than my kids. Seriously. LOL This and Friends are shows that BR and I have watched longer than I can remember. Well since the first episode. LOL I dont know why, but when I loose a long watched TV show its like loosing a friend.. I know that sounds stupid, but you do get attached to them. For the last few years BR and I have said we are going to quit watching sitcoms and such. and it looks like we might have to start.. LOL once ER goes off I think thats all we watch on there. well, 30 rock, but I am having a harder time watching it lately. I will just stick with CBS and ABC till they screw off the last of the good ones and then quit. I get enough drama watching the news anyway LOL

I really miss the original cast of ER. Those were the days when I wouldn't schedule anything on Thursday nights because I couldn't miss an episode of ER. Everyone talked about it the next day at work. Sad to say I have lost touch with the show over the last few years with all the new characters. I just couldn't get excited about it anymore. However, I did watch last week's episode when I saw that Dr. Green was going to be on it. It was great to see the old cast members and it made me miss it even more. I may watch a few more episodes to see who else shows up.

I keep watching because I've vested so much time into the show and this is it, but they lost a lot of their spark a few years ago. With the old cast, the shows were so much more action filled. Along with all the drama, there was a ton of excitement too with traumas coming in left & right. And they were funny in all the right places. I rarely laugh anymore. I think the writers knew they were losing their touch because they tried to pick up the excitement last season & this season a little, but it's not the same. I'm glad they decided to call it quits because I hate to see great shows run themselves into the ground and have to quit out of necessity.

Hard to tell but I just don't see any logical reason to put his death in the storyline. It's not like he was a major character. Maybe he dies so Sam leaves and that's her way "out" of the hospital. Who knows.
dang, seems like the only people who're going to be left on the very last episode are an intern and 2 janitors.
Jerry makes a cameo next week. I'm wondering if Carter will show up the last episode and that's it.

Did anyone watch the last episode? It wasn't what I expected. I thought more of the former cast members would show up, to include the ones who already appeared on episodes in the last few weeks. And I didn't like how the mom who had the twins died. That was a bit of a dead end storyline. The husband (Ernest Borgnine) by his wife's side was so sad. One thing about it is that they ended it differently than many shows do. Usually what happens to the characters in the show reflects the ending to the show itself. Their story in some way, shape or form is ending right along with the show. Home Improvement comes to mind. They decided to move out of Detroit so Jill could pursue a new job. Or M*A*S*H, the end of the war and everyone going home went hand in hand with the end of the show. But ER wasn't like that. Their story wasn't ending, it was a new beginning. The younger Dr.'s will carry on, Carter more than likely coming back to County. I do like how they ended it that way, as if it would still keep going. I knew Rachel Greene the instant they showed her face. Same girl who played her years ago. That was a perfect storyline...her going to be a med. student wanting to follow in her dad's footsteps. Carter asking her to come inside, calling her Dr. Greene at the very end. Great stuff.

I cried and cried and cried. I loved Rachel Greene coming back.. that was really awesome and I loved Carrie being there and Carter opening the new center and his wife showing up.. There were just so many amazing moments.
You are right.. it wasn't the ending I expected. I do feel like the writers did an outstanding job with it.. I really thought everyone would be going their own way but instead many stayed, many new ones are taking over and life goes on.
It was really a good finish I thought.. I really enjoyed the "retrospective" before the show too.
