Hi everyone,
Has anyone heard of or tried Phentermine? I took it a few yrs ago - ordered it online pretty cheap. I can't find it anywhere now. Does anyone here currently take any kind of diet pill? If so, what is it & how does it make you feel? My main prob is having enough energy to get my chunky behind on my treadmill or elliptical.
Thanks for any info/help/advice!

I tried one-a-day weight loss pills once but they did nothing. I eat a low calorie energy bar when I need energy to go to the gym.

They do give you energy, its like a synthetic form of speed. They make you jumpy, make your heart race, they will make you lose weight because you won't be hungry, but stop taking them and you'll put the weight right back on and them some. I wouldnt recommend them honestly.

I agree 100% here. Diet pills work for all the wrong reasons. Doctors would never recommend them. The way to lose weight is through a change in diet and exercise.
If you don't have energy in the later part of the day, exercise in the morning. Heck gyms are packed at 5am.

I don't believe in any diet pills.. they have been advertising that Alli or something like that a lot recently and I wouldn't expect much from it either. It seems like every generation gets bombarded with 2-3 different miracle cures but the reality is... just plain ole diet and excersise are your best bets.
I remember years and years ago watching Richard Simmons visit this lady who was bedridden because she had gained so much weight... there was NO way she was going to be able to get out of bed to excersise and he told her "move something.. anything.. and just start"... She was able to move her arms up and down a few times and eventually work up to more and more.
That's what I tell myself everyday.. move something.. anything.. and just start... even if you are just tapping your foot you are burning calories..

I have heard Alli works but if you eat anything greasy, fattening, etc you get REALLY sick

But see...that's not good. All of us enjoy a greasy food once in a while. I don't want to be sick eating dinner LOL.

LOL.. me either Audrey! Sounds almost like those pills they give people who aren't supposed to drink and then if they do they get sick. I WANT to splurge every now and then and if I can't.. I would get really down.. It's great to eat healthy and be healthy but every now and then you should have the freedom to ENJOY the life you are preserving and indulge in something fun.. like cheese... I made tacos for dinner and only had one and only used fat free sour cream but I felt indulgent.

Bought a second container yesterday.. I really don't mind it.. I've used it on tacos and baked potatoes. DH even had it on his taco last night.. havent' had the heart to tell him it's fat free since he hates sour cream but for some reason has started adding it to tacos?

The most recent time..my grandma found a sale on sugar free jam and bought many jars. One of the jars was apricot instead of orange marmalade. She just put it in the fridge like normal and he NEVER noticed.

I just keep old jars and pour things in the old jar and he never knows the difference. For example...we drink a lot of instant 'iced' tea around here (about 6-8 gal a day). He will only let me buy the generic brand, he thinks it mixes better because it is more of a powder than granuals (sp?). What he doesn't know is that I have bought Lipton or Nestea several times and just pour them in the old generic jar and he thinks it's the same thing. LMAO

You ladies have no idea how hard I'm laughing over here. I have to share a story. My mom and dad stayed in the guest room of one of my friends. My mom only drinks regular coffee. The woman (my friend) assured my mom it was NOT decaf. Her husband believes it is decaf. It was the most hysterical thing to see them both drinking coffee one saying it's regular and one saying it's decaf ROFL.
