I was just wondering how many of these PTR sites do I need to sign up with is it like survey sites that you need loads? Also do you know how long it takes till the e-mails start to roll in? Is it better to change profile to "Site Inbox & email" or just "site inbox" a wee bit confused there? Thanks

Your Site Inbox will only inform you when you are on the site. So naturally, if you don't want to check all your sites every hour, I'd use email. I'd also recommend signing up for as many as possible. They don't pay that much per ad, but then again, it only takes a little time to view one. If you have a lot of time on your hands, I'd say sign up as many times as possible.

The only advice I can really give is to just sign up with the sites listed here. I know samantha and spooky are honest and aren't just trying to get referrals. I am personally only signed up wtih two sites but I have heard from others that they have gotten a ton of spam or couldn't get payment with some places that aren't listed here. Better safe than sorry in my book!

Don't go overboard though. You don't want to wake up and find 1000 emails in your inbox. If you have a lot of time, maybe go for 10. Otherwise, I wouldn't sign up for more than 5. The places I'm signed up with send 30+ emails a day, so it can take awhile to click them all. The window has to stay open for up to 45 seconds too, and they usually want you to perform a valid search.
Sometimes it can take up to a month for the emails to roll in, but a lot of them start sending a ton of them the very first day. The more emails you click (and do a search, if the ad is for a search engine), the more emails they will send.
Also be sure to set up a new email account so that your "real" email doesn't get lost in the shuffle.
EDIT: Thought I'd mention which sites I'm with, although there are plenty of others that are good too.
AppleBizs CosPlayMails DolphinPTR ToMoonMail
I'm also with Hits4Pay, although I haven't hit payout yet. Other people here have though. They pay pretty decent for referrals, so if you can get some people to sign up under you, you'll hit payout much faster.

So if I don't actually do a search on a search engine link they know and I won't get as many ads?
I've signed up on 30+ today/yesterday and only have gotten about 10 links with all of them put together. I wonder if I'm doing something wrong or just need to wait...

They say they know, but I don't know whether or not that is true. However, if you don't do a search and click on one of the sites returned, the search engine doesn't make money. If the search engine isn't getting any revenue from the ads they placed, they won't advertise with that PTR anymore, and if the PTR doesn't have advertisers, it goes under. There's the whole issue of click fraud (clicking on a site that you don't really have any intention of shopping at), but after everything I've read, I don't really buy into it. The web site is advertising and getting their name out there, which to me, is no different than watching advertisements on tv. Is McDonald's going to come after me for "watch fraud" because I don't run out and buy a Big Mac everytime I see their commercial? I don't think so.
Be patient, one day isn't enough. If you clicked all the links they sent, you'll more than likely get a few more tomorrow. I used to be a member of 1cemail (good site, but payout was too high for my tastes). For almost a month, I'd get maybe 5 emails a day. Then all of the sudden, I started getting the 30+ they advertised.

Ok, that was what I was thinking, hopefully if I get to sleep when I wake up I'll have a lot to feed on.
Also, I'm unsure about the "high/low payout" figures. I'm not sure why it matters or why people care...

Just a wee update. I signed up for 6 PTR sites yesterday and this is how many emails received so far.
Read Revenue 8 U Bizs 2 Biz Bizs 5 Days Look 7 Lucky Bizs 8 My Bizs 5
Not bad AND the day ain't over, it's 5pm here. So glad I didn't sign up with too many!! What I did notice is that when it asks you to stay on the page for 45sec I did a search anyway. Since I started doing that I've got more mails. Don't know if this helped or not. Any thoughts?
Oh and another thing I kep going into my a/c to change profile etc. Maybe it shows them I am active? or maybe I'm talking rubbish LOL!!

Just a note about Read Revenue. They used to be real good, but lately, a lot of people have been complaining about not being paid. They haven't paid me twice (owe me $6) and don't respond to my emails.

I think I signed up for too many. I awoke to 150+ emails . Thought that might be a bit too much but wasn't sure as I only joined 2 days ago. I received another 37 e-mails today from the 6 I registered with. Happy Reading!!

The only reason I haven't canceled my account is because of some small hope they might decide to give me my money.

Read Revenue still owe me $3. It isn't that much but it took me a while to earn it. I have being waiting well over a week and they said they pay within 48 hours. I have emailed them also and they haven't replied. Anyone else having this problem too?
