Please only list programs from which you have actually RECIEVED payment. You may use your referral links for a program as long as the program hasn't already been listed. This board thrives because of honesty. If you list a program that is later found to be a scam you will be banned.
This section is for active users of the message board and a way to for active members to get referrals. If you are not participating in the board on a regular basis your referral link will be replaced.
Thanks!

Sounds a bit draconian to me. Before I get banned, let me explain. Situation one: I recently joined, and innocently, unknowingly, post a link to a SCAM site. ***BOOM*** Banned I realize that there are those who post SCAM links whenever, and wherever they can. In the last 24 hours, I have seen one example of this, but I have also seen a new member do roughly the same thing. The difference is pretty obvious, but each should have the chance to explain their post. Then kill them, if warranted. However, the posted links need to be removed ASAP. Situation two: Member for awhile, and post a link to a new site because I want to get in on the ground floor for referrals, before another member. ***BOOM*** Banned The posted site is new, so no payments made yet. The temptation is very great to be the first one to post it. I think the site should be posted as a SCAM, and the link removed. No need to kill the member, as the teasing and embarassment from such an offense should be enough. Situation three: Site a member has posted a link to degenerates into a SCAM site. ***BOOM*** Banned One of the sites referred to in situation one above, is known for making payments to only a 'select few'. Then these people post their "proof of payment", and the site seem legitimate. Once again, no need to kill the member, as the teasing and embarassment from such an offense should be enough. Situation four: A member questions the rules and ***BOOM I said "let me explain"...

I am sure all situations will be looked at before this happens. We all know that sometimes sites start off strong and then change or fall through if thats the case its not your fault but if someone comes and post a site that everyone knows is a scam then its obvious that person is spamming the board. We all want to jump in and get the refs first but unless its a long time proven site i would just put my link in my siggy people will still sign up under you from there. If you ever run into a site and at first it was great and then it takes a turn for the worst just tell connie and remove the link I am sure something will be worked out

If you are following the rules, it isn't draconian at all. You are supposed to post proof of payment before you list any site as a referral.. if you have been paid.. it isn't a scam.
If however you are here listing a site because you are excited and want to get referrals and you haven't followed the rules.. well who is to blame?
This isn't a free advertising site (as I just had to delete posts from someone posting their OWN blog and with which we can't verify the sites on their blog are legit) and will never be one.
If you have been paid by a PTC or GPT and can back it up and no one else has a referral to that site.. you are free to talk about it and post it... I personally feel that is MORE than fair as most sites don't even allow any referrals..
If you can't prove it and back it up with payment proof, don't come here looking for referrals on the hopes that it will turn out to be legit.

I also have to add that I agree with Mrsfreeze.. we are very open here. If you are someone like msfreeze or mscody or glitch or OC or any number of other members who are longtime, active members you WILL be given more leeway than someone who has a few posts and jumps in with some referral link with no backup.
It's the same way on all forums. This particular forum has been built on reputation and credibility and that will never change. If there is anyone who can't accept that or appreciate what that means is just out of luck and needs to look elsewhere to advertise for referrals.

I appreciate the responses to my questions above. Thank you. The major reason I posted this was that I was seeing someone obviously spamming the board, and also someone who did so innocently. So I thought to myself " Self, what are they going to do?", and I answered " I dunno.". So I asked. Every now and then, the devil needs an advocate. The responses more than reinforce my belief that I have joined with the RIGHT board for me. See my introduction. Have a nice day, Louis BTW - I have not posted any links with referrals: one IWG, and some links that explain or answer questions posed by members.

I think Connie and Msfreeze summed it up pretty good. This is a legit, honest, reputable baord and we welcome everyone! I am sure folks don't just get banned on a whim or for an innocent mistake. I personally don't do much gpt like paid email whatever as I don't have the time to sit and click links to like 400 emails..lol..but The ones I have been with I have been with forever and have been paid from-like gptrreasure-thats when I start posting ref. links!

I definately appreciate the devils advocate role.. one of my favorites personally.. Always willing to hear input and ideas and glad you feel comfortable here! If you see obvious spamming and it gets overlooked please let me or one of the mods know so we can make it go away. I appreciate the responses to my questions above. Thank you. You will not get BANNED for not participating ever. The participating only pertains to you being allowed to have the only referral link for a particular GPT site.
Even then you don't have to participate everyday.. although that would be nice! Heck I own the forum and life gets busy enough where I can't be here everyday..
Just regularly is nice.. I guess if you want a definition of "regularly" it would be three or four times a week.
