This year Chinese New Year falls on February 18th. It is the year of the Fire Pig. Legend has it that in ancient times, Buddha asked all the animals to meet him on Chinese New Year. Twelve came, and Buddha named a year after each one. He announced that the people born in each animal's year would have some of that animal's attributes. Those born in pig years tend to have excellent manners, make and keep friends, work very hard, and appreciate luxury. They are very loving and make loyal partners.
This year is the year of the Fire Pig, a very energetic pig. This will be an active year, when we can breathe new life into old projects. Once we have set goals it will be hard to distract us. It will be an emotional and passionate year and relationships will be both exciting and tumultuous. Pigs love luxury and we may feel a desire to overspend.
