A warning on this one: I DO remember a little bit about science and what happens when you mix baking soda and vinegar so I actually wondered about the wisdom of this when I tried out this recipe... regardless of what I KNEW.. I decided that just maybe the water neutralized the soda enough to not worry about a sealed bottle... I went ahead and made a little up and added it to my already half full bottle of softener... about 15 minutes later as I walked by I noticed the bottle was expanding! Loosening the lid helped...

Lesson: Dont' completely close the lid of whatever container you store the softener in..
