I am loving the controls I have over the new website but am NOT liking many aspects of the forum itself.

What are your thoughts?

I've had fun exploring the new forum. I've been in the same situation...having run 1 board then switching to another and playing around with new things. It's not always an easy adjustment.

I was just getting used to the Activity, Groups, etc. tabs at the top before they disappeared.

I don't want to rain on your parade, but it wouldn't be me if I weren't perfectly honest. I find this forum setup much easier to navigate. But then again, it's what I've been used to for many years.

One thing I really miss there that you have here is the "Preview" option when you post. I like being able to see what I'm posting first just in case I need to tweak, as opposed to posting it then going back and editing it.

I just thought of another handy little feature...Quoting. Being able to quote someone's post in our own. Is there a way to do that somehow in the new forum?

But I'm not going anywhere (no comments from the peanut gallery) and will support you no matter what you decide, Connie. I've thoroughly enjoyed my time here and all y'all will have to put up with me no matter what forum we're on. LOL ;D

Actually there are a lot of changes that can be made, but right now fixing the areas that are broken is priority - then we can institute changes (by we, I mean Connie )

Thanks for your honesty OC! It IS different. I do believe I saw a plugin for quotes, will see if I can find it.

I tried to get an answer on adding tabs to the top because I liked them too but so far no answer. I will keep playing. I would also like to be able to see how many have viewed a post, how many are online right now.. guests not just members.

Im trying to be patient instead of getting frustrated. New things are being rolled out constantly for this forum setup and we aren't alone.

Back to the tabs though.. it might turn out that I just can't add new ones because of the theme. This theme was not meant for buddypress so it really doesn't support the forum features. However, I LOVE this theme. There is one other three column theme I found that is for buddypress but I've heard that it crashes in IE and has some other bugs. I didn't even try it out for those reasons.

I am asking for help.. check YOUR email.. LOL... However it's not on the tabs.. Come to find out.. the tabs SHOULD be automatically working. They just aren't. Waiting to see what the developer has to say. Im ready to turn you loose in Wordpress as well Louis.. Maybe you can figure out where I messed it up. Whenever you are ready let me know. I've deactivate, deleted, reinstalled to my hearts content and working on three problems at one time is giving me a headache.
