I registered under joe32. It doesn't look like it works and does not show me as a member. I tried a second time using the same name and was told joe32 was taken. I also tried signing up for one of the groups and either couldn't do it or I can't figure it out (I really am a techno-tard). Any suggestions? Can one of you check and see if I am registered? Thanks.

If your real name is displayed in the new forum but you want your user name to show instead, click on Edit Profile along the right side of the page. In there, there's a drop-down menu next to Display Name Publicly As where you can choose which one to display. Above this there's a spot to enter a Nickname. You can put your user name there too if you'd like.
This didn't work for me, it kept displaying my real name, but maybe others will have better luck. I ended up changing my first & last name to my user name.

I didn't see where you were talking about I saw weebitty next to my name but that is all. Also didn't I see somewhere we had signatures capabilities?? Where is that?? The sentence that I wrote in the new forum about change. This maybe painful for some of us LOL

Weebitty, when you first log on...along the right side of the page under Birthdays, there's a link to Edit Profile. This seems to take you do a different profile editor than if you clicked on My Account at the top of the page, so be sure to use the one along the right side for this. This is where you can add a Nickname & change to which name you want publicly displayed. I was playing around with it and whatever you put in the Nickname box, you can choose to display from the drop-down menu below it. My first & last name boxes are both empty. To change your signature...there's a couple ways. You can click on your own user name (right hand side of the page at the top) or you can click on My Account at the very top of the page. After clicking one of those, click on the Profile tab below your avatar. Then click Change Signature. Hope that helps. Connie, under Birthdays on the right side of the page, it says No birthdays today or tomorrow. Then under that is says Welcome, (user name) with an Edit Profile & Logout link. Are they supposed to be under Birthdays like that?

Yes I moved it under bdays because that is the facebook login area.. It was confusing people where to log in and I haven't found out how to get rid of the username and password boxes for facebook. We don't need them, just the login bar.

... This maybe painful for some of us ... No pain, no gain! Remember - resistance is futile! We are riding Connie's wave of the future! or new board, however you choose to look at it!

We don't need them, just the login bar. Hmm OK. Well once you're logged in, that FB login area has a link to Edit Profile and Logout. Clicking on THAT "Edit Profile" is the only place I could find that allows you to choose which name you display by using that drop-down menu I've been talking about. To be honest, when I registered the first time, I put my first/last name in like it asked. Then everywhere I went on the forum, my first name kept popping up. I tried setting it to display my user name, but it wouldn't work. So I deleting that account and created a new one, replacing my first/last name with Organized Chaos. I guess it was the long way around, but whatever works. On a side note: Due to the avatar requirements, I can't use my Soup Nazi avatar w/o chopping the top of his head off. Not a big deal but I don't recognize myself. LOL

You aren't alone in not liking the way the avatars look. I don't either. It's still a pretty new format and new plugins are being developed all the time. I hope this is one that someone will come up with since we aren't the only forum not liking them.
I will move the login back until I can find a solution.. I will have to register as Bill and see what you are all talking about. I didn't have any problems with changing names or have it show my real name. But then I am admin on one acct and I registered using facebook under katies acct... maybe that is the problem area.. I never looked at her profile.
I appreciate all the feedback!

I've got three questions:
1. Are you really a pink bunny Connie?
2. Does Jeff Dunham have his had up your behind Louis?
3. Where are the girlie photos?

I just noticed that after logging in, the "Edit Profile" on the right took you to a different place than if you clicked on your user name or My Account. But now that you've moved it, seeing both logins together like that, I see what you mean about being confusing. Is there any way to add another header like Facebook Login or something like that? Kind of like there is for Birthdays & Who's Online. I don't know, just brainstorming. What exactly does the FB login do for you? How is it different than the regular login?

The facebook login lets those with facebook accts just click the facebook button and they are automatically registered. I just HATE that it has those two log in spaces.. they aren't needed. Tomorrow I will look around for a replacement. I like the way it looks now, with the exception of it having those two text boxes.
I was just thinking today.. Louis likes coding.. this could be a regular business opp for him... making buddypress plugins! haha
