We will be going to my dd's for a bbq.. Im making potato salad, margaritas and pitching in on the chicken. Then all the kids are going to the park to watch the big fireworks (Bill and I are happy watching them from the house and avoiding the traffic). We actually have a dang good view of the big fireworks from the house..
What's everyone else doing?

We had our dinner today! I BBQ'ed a whole pork shoulder for four adults and one child. Lots of leftover potato salad, cole slaw, pork, and buns. I guess I know what's for dinner tomorrow.

Watched our annual parade yesterday morning. My brother had a big BBQ for his birthday so I spent some time over there then went on a motorcycle ride.
My town changed the location where they shoot off fireworks to the park right behind me, so we had a front row seat & they burst practically overhead. It was great to be so close and so private, but unfortunately it wasn't a very good show.
I might take my boy over to Fair St. Louis this evening to watch the air show. Haven't decided yet.
Happy 4th of July everyone! Today is also the 50th anniversary of our current 50 star flag, so a big happy anniversary to Old Glory. A-ten-HUT! Salute

We had a great neighborhood fireworks display and watched the big fireworks from the middle of the street.. It was pretty awesome and everyone was done by at least 1am which was even more awesome.. I went to bed shortly after midnight and was able to SLEEP... that's a first!

Nope, we didn't go. The more the day wore on, the less I felt like driving over there, dealing with the crowd & sitting out in the heat.
I'll take him to the annual air show at the Air Force base not far from here. He'll enjoy that more cause he likes seeing the planes I guarded. Plus they'll have more military aircraft on the ground to see up close. The one in St. Louis was mostly stunt planes.
