I am sick of the debate on this. The supreme court or no one else has a right to ban guns, local or state either. This is how they chip away at our rights. Now don't get on your band wagon and debate about crime and stuff. The issue here is the second amendments of the CONSTITUTION. I will not give up my right to bear arms or anyone elses right. I will support the CONSTITUTION. WE are having our liberties taken away little by little...... people please wake up. Every home should make the Bill of Rights required reading because it isn't being taught in schools anymore and people who don't know their right can get them taken away without them even knowing it. And I think that is the plan.

OK, now I am confused.
The case they are hearing is not about remaking the Second Amendment, but how far the Fourteenth Amendment can infringe on it. There is division among the Judges, and we have to wait and see how they will rule. Right now, the lawyer seems to be making a hash out of his own case by mis-interpreting/understanding questions posed by the Justices.
To simplify the case being considered, is that how far can state laws go before overruling a Constitutional Right, making said state law Unconstitutional.

we have by far the most conservative Supreme Court in the last 50 years. there is absolutely ZERO chance they would ban guns. Scalia is a gun owner and hunter, for Pete's sake! anyway, there's no way anyone's taking my guns away either. the government has no idea i have guns and i'm sure not going to tell them, so i have no idea how they could get them anyway. they can pass all the laws they want, i doubt that they are going to go door to door and search people's homes.

Yeah but when you buy one from a gun store you have to register them. The problem is getting ammunition for the darn things!! Since Obama took office it seems there is a scarcity of ammo. You can buy all the guns you want but they don't do you any good without the bullets!!! There was even rumours of serializing the bullets themselves for ID purposes haven't hear anymore about that though.
