It's a fascinating concept but I don't think it would work for the benefit of Americans as a whole.

Actually I have said this for years. Honestly- since I was a little girl, there was something that my grandparents congressman voted against or for or something, and my grandmother was writing a letter to him, and they met with him and everything. I remember her being so mad she could bite a nail in two, and asked her why and she told me. I told her then (and I was in Elem. school) "well everyone goes to town every week for groceries, why cant they just ask how folks feel and let you vote then?"
She asked me who would write the bills, and I told her we could still vote folks into office for that, but they would have to get ALL of our approval for them to be made into laws.
She thought about it and then told me "cause that would make sense, and you wouldnt have these dimwitted morons suckin off the Govt tit"
I think that now , in this day and age, I mean personal computers were not even THOUGHT about back then. and Al Gore had not EVEN invented the internet yet, it could be done- we already have a SS number, and that way, they couldnt 'decide what is BEST for us, because we are not smart enough to know' instead they would have to listen to us.

Al Gore hadn't invented the internet? ROFLMAO.. Seriously.. we need to figure out how to get back to "we the people" before ANY changes can be made. I am all for health care reform but these bills before us make zero sense and won't help anyone but the insurance companies who have created the entire problem to begin with. Good intentions aren't going to help anyone.
