What a fantastic game so far! Just a little bit into the third quarter and Fresno is playing tough! THIS is the type of game we expected from Oregon... Finally!

Congrats on the 51-34 win!
I thought it would be a shootout, and it was. It was exciting with lots of 60+ yards plays.

Had to work overtime but this sounded like a fun game to watch. BSU could go undefeated-just keep an eye on BYU.

I watched the re-broadcast at midnight on ESPN - had to wait for the Spousal Unit to go to bed

Fresno was AWESOME! It was a terrfic game. Even though I loved it.. there has been a lot of talk about our defense being pretty lame that game..

BSU beat up Bowling Green, who gave Mizzou such a hard time. BSU is now ranked no. 5 in the National polls, and BYU is still the stumbling block in their schedule, even though BYU hasn't been doing well lately. I think that beating BSU is something the BYU players hope for, because it would salve their recent losses.

BSU needs to keep and eye on TCU and Houston, both of which could be BCS busters. BYU is probably out since they lost last week to Florida State at home.

I couldn't believe it when the polls came out! We were hoping for a 6 but some where saying that was a long shot. I figured we could make it to 6 after California lost to Oregone.. but a "5" Never even had hopes for that! What a great surprise!

Down to number 6... we seriously sucked in the homecoming game against UC Davis.. On ones hand.. okay.. they TAUGHT our coach everything he knows.. well most of it.. okay.. still.. it was a sad sad game.
My biggest fear is that we will lose against some little no body team like ISU.. hmm guess thats the reason no one wants to play us too.. they are afraid they would lose.. ick

One of the problems with being rated is that you are a target that teams look to tumble. There is also over-confidence that has been the undoing of many teams, who didn't prepare for the team they were going to play against, but instead were looking too far down the road to see the pothole in front of them. So maybe the UC Davis game was a wake-up call to pay attention.

The beauty of Coach Pete is that "EVERY game is THE game"... there is no looking towards the future. Of course even though that is his philosophy it doesn't mean the team doesn't get "comfortable". The UC Davis game was supposed to be a shutout and I personally think the team took it to heart that they didn't have to work as hard. At least that was the way it looked. We also had the problem of the fans.. I truly believe our fan base plays a huge role especially at the home games. The stands were not full, it was cold and raining. THEN we had the fans BOOING when Moore made a bad pass.. that sound is NEVER heard from our stands.. There were a lot of unhappy people about that. Very unclassy and we are known for our class. shame shame shame
I hope it was a wake up call.. if we get beaten by Idaho.. I will NOT be happy.

OK, so I just entered recent Football statistics into the HavingFunNow5000 super-duper football results predictor, and have come up with the following for BSU vs Idaho:
Won't even be that close of a game, due to the fact that while Idaho looks good on paper now, they really haven't played anyone, and haven't won most of those games convincingly. Adding that to the fact that they are going to be playing BSU on the Blue turf, the final score should be BSU 40ish, Idaho 20ish.
The surprising result I got was the Hawaiian upset of BSU on October 25, 2009. Yes, you heard it here first! Hawaii has lost two games, one a heartbreaker by one point, and the other to LSU: Both games were away from home, and Hawaii is undefeated at home.
I may try to watch this game and see if Hawaii's cheerleaders wear grass skirts - wooooo hoo!
