I really believe in prayers & masses. The more people pull together and the more prayers and thoughts there are out there sometimes the better the outcome.
My nieces little baby just born on the 3rd of Sept. has been in the hospital since Sat. morning. Her bilirubin levels are quite high. She became jaundice Fri. and they sent out a light box for her. A visiting nurse came Sat. morning to check her and her bilirubin was at 27. The pediatrician told them to take her in. She has lost a little over a pound and now weights 5lbs. She's not eating and they are giving her sugar water and Tracy is pumping milk to try and get her to eat. They have her in the light box and wake her every 2 hrs and try to get her to eat. She did take 1 & 1/2oz yesterday but she is still a sick little baby. It breaks my heart. So please pray that the bilirubin goes down. Since Sunday it has gone down to 20 but it is a constant up and down. I didn't never knew this could be so dangerous for babies. So Please pray.

They will be doing a transfusion later tonight on her to try and bring the bilirubon down. Please Pray that it comes down. It can cause brain damage and hearing loss and blindness. She's just so little. Thank you!

Oh Connie thanks for asking. She finally got to come home on the 20th. I've seen her since I've been home and her little body is still a little yellow-orange but her face is still really yellow-orange. I hated to leave but they assured me she was going to be ok. The last thing the doc told my niece was that the color in the face would be the last to go. But she is doing so much better. She drinks about 5oz. now and weights 6lbs 4oz.. Not quite what she was born at but getting there. My nick name for her is "squeaky" because she streaches so much and "squeaks". And thank goodness she doesn't look like "Kilroy" anymore!!!
