I did a bit of research on Mystery Shopping Online. Like with so much I have researched I would find something I thought sounded good and than find something saying it was a scam.
I found less on Online Mystery Shopping than on Mystery Shopping in the community.
Does anyone have tips on Mystery Shopping Online and who to work with.
I do a lot of shopping online and think this would work well for me if I can get with a good company.
Thank you all

Mystery shopping online Sounds more like the companies that want you to make trial purchases and cancel right before the end of your grace period, to supposedly test the company, but in reality just hope you forget, or they have your credit info and just start billing monthly, with a customer support number that never works. This seems very dangerous to me, and I would only do it with a pre-paid CC set-up just for this purpose. I have been playing around with Mystery Shopping, and have found that it depends a lot on location, location, location. However, I have been able to do four shops so far, and another one tomorrow. This is not a steady source of income, but it is FUN!

Louis, Thanks for the information. I sure did not find that much info when I researched. Nothing positive enough for me to try the Online Mystery Shopping. I may keep looking and your warning helps me. I did read some info on how hard it can be to keep track of your credit card info and canceling in time. As busy as I get at times I sure could see me getting in trouble with that. Again thanks

Cindy, that stuff is NOT mystery shopping. It's GPT (offer sites). I don't think there is a real call for true mystery shopping online. Mystery shopping companies are looking to find out the quality of service, cleanliness, knowledge of employees etc. That's just not something that you can do when you shop online. If you want to try the offer sites you can check out the "get paid to" section here. MsFreeze does a good job of keeping the rif raff out..

Well ya know I do a lot of shopping online. And I shop at sites because of the quality of service I get from the company. I really thought it was a good idea. I sure have found sites that need to improve their service. From the way their website is set up to their customer service on the phone and everything in between. Guess my thoughts are just not the way the Mystery Shopping works though. I thought what Louis was talking about would not quite be the way Online Mystery Shopping work would go but was not sure.
I worked in retails sales for years selling women's apparel. I remember back then having Mystery Shoppers. Do not know if that was what it was called back then. But people would evaluate your performance and maybe the looks and such of the store. Probably things I just was not aware of.
Oh well I think I should start my own business and do Online Mystery shopping. Nice dream anyway. ;D

I heard back from Tema Frank the woman who was Pres. of the company Web Mystery Shopper. She said the company had closed.
So I bet this company Secret web shopper may not be a good company to try. If nobody here knows anything about it I will research further.

Thanks Danielle
I will check the site out.
I wanted on line mystery shopping. At on line web sites. Sounds like that idea did not work for the gal who had the company for this kind of work.

This is typically what you get when looking for Online mystery shopping jobs, (see the bolded part, this indicates it's actually an "offer site", nothing to do with mystery shopping:
From Secretwebshoppers faq's:
How do I participate in Mystery Shopping Jobs? After registration, members are provided with the list of Mystery Shopping Jobs available. Upon completion of registration, members will click on the Shopping Jobs they would like to take up and will be led to the website of company providing that Mystery Shopping Job and you will be asked to sign up the trial offer. Also based on the information available with us, we send out invitations to those members who, we believe, may qualify to take up a job when a client contacts us with a request for recruiting web-shopper.

Thanks for the tip Connie.
I did not even read the info on the site when I posted the name on the board. I was feeling pretty negative about it being what I was looking for so just was going to see what you gals and guys might tell me.
I know it is good to do your own research but boy I get tired sometimes. Also confused. This board has helped me out with getting some good info and not having to spend so much time researching and still not being sure of my final conclusions.

I've received a couple of emails for an online mystery shopping assignment at www.intell-shop.com/ - no guarantees but they are a good company Also, not sure if I'm answering the question correctly , but there are companies that do research on how you view websites. Take a look at www.factone.com/research.html I did a project for them once involving a major financial company. I don't know if they have a panel you can sign up for, (I got to do it through word of mouth) but you could search for similar companies.
