I've already got a book-review blog and a travel blog at today.com, which used to pay per post for more people and has now dropped a lot of people to only the $2-per-1,000-pageviews scheme...I'm on that since I never had really good traffic to begin with, and now I can't seem to find time to keep up with it at all with so little incentive. (I still mean to, though. Really.) But I've been hoping to start up an mp3 blog, partly because I like music and like sharing my finds, and I'm also hoping to use some kind of paid-uploading site with it and services like ReadySite and Adgitize with it so I can earn something. Assuming pay-per-post sites might ask you to review music, I'd also like to work that in. And I'm looking for suggestions on what I might use for a blog host (and/or a PPP site; I've heard it's hard to get anything from PayPerPost if you're a new blogger). Today.com doesn't allow other monetizing, and to my knowledge Wordpress, Livejournal, and Dreamwidth don't let you slap widgets in your layout. I have enough experience with Blogger to know it's a little clumsy, although admittedly that was a while ago. Anything else that's good (and free)?

I'm not positive, since I use Blogger, but I'm pretty sure that Wordpress does let you add widgets. I know that there's two different versions or something, and one of them lets you monetize and the other doesn't. Hopefully, someone else here would be able to answer that part.
