I read the book and LOVED it. I was looking so forward to the movie.
The movie was great, perfect until the end. They changed the ending !! why ? why change a perfectly good ending?
I say if you haven't read the book, don't, go see the movie. if you read the book, re-read the book or go see the movie but leave 5 minutes before it ends.
I was so disappointed. It was so good until then.

So many authors go nuts about how there books are handled and not many of the them have the clout to get their words protected. Once they give those rights away, there gone if they want the movie made at all.

I agree so much! I loved the book, but the movie just made it really corny and predictable. Although I was disappointed way before the end. I mean Alec Baldwin? Come on! And what ever happened to the attorney ad lietum (sp?)? And the whole twist they added in the movie took away from the whole message.
Although, I must add, I went to the movie with my mom because we read the book at the same time (little book club thing, lol.) And when the lights came on and I was pretty annoyed with the film, I looked over and she was bawling her eyes out. She loved it!

They change things to either keep the films short or because it drives the plot, I've noticed that the British films rarely do that. although maybe that's my imagination. I so want to see this one though, and I haven't read the book.
