I really thought he would be smarter than this: MESA, Ariz. – President Barack Obama threw a $75 billion lifeline to millions of Americans on the brink of foreclosure Wednesday, declaring an urgent need for drastic action — not only to save their homes but to keep the housing crisis "from wreaking even greater havoc" on the broader national economy. news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090219/ap_on_go_pr_wh/obama_home_foreclosures

I think this is big bunch of BS. Yes, people have lost jobs and are seeing hard times, and they should be helped. However the dumb ass who bought a 300,000 house on a 15,000 a year salary deserves to be homeless. This pisses me off. I have a subprime mortgage. However I stuck to what I could afford and found out what the terms 'fixed' and 'adjustable' meant. I was smart enough to figure if rates are at an all time low chances are pretty freaking good that they are going to go up so I stuck to a slightly higher fixed rate (6% vs the 4% the adjustable was offering). So I want my bailout. I want my mortgage paid for, I want a better interest rate- I did the RIGHT thing and now I get to pay for idiots. Gotta love this country.

Hey.. I just want to go back in time and buy a big house I can't afford so I can get some bailout now..
Seriously.. I THOUGHT I was being smart when we kept getting realtors telling us we could get into a home and I kept saying no.. I know what they are trying to get us into... I should have taken them up on it.. we would have one heck of a deal waiting for us now.

Exactly, I wouldn't have to be squished into this tiny affordable heap. I could have gone for the big one that I couldn't afford, it was three times as big and as nice.....

Yep. God saved me. I had a deal signed, sealed and delivered for a 100,000.00 house. I mean it was MINE. Building was going to start.
THEN after the huricanne that delayed building for a little while, they found out there was an isue with my title. A great aunt didnt sign off when it was sold back to my grandfather. (he sold 3 family members 30 acres, one aunt sold her 7, everyone signed. another sold her 7, everyone signed. aunt #1 died. uncle kept all of his. He sold it back to my grandfather 15. acres. BUT AUnt #2 was still alive and they didnt fiqure she had to sign, she had sold off her intrest. NOW she has died, uncle died. and she had no children, but did have 42 neices and nephews.
They ALL have to sign. so I wrote up a quit claim. GOT all the sigs. Lawyers made it get thrown out becuase it wasnt done by a legal lawyer. which is BS. and I still dont 'own' the land. BUT I have all the papers. But since I didnt own the land I couldnt build on it. Ended up getting a trailer. and I thank GOD every day that I am in this cramped ass trailer, with out a dime to my name instead of loosing my dream home, my family land, and being out in the cold. again.
We NEVER expected me to loose my job and have another baby. NEVER. But it was all part of Gods Plan. and I am lucky he was looking out for me.
At the time BR made LESS than he does now. and we DID question the monthly note. The bank assured us we could pay it. even offered to help us with a budget. it would have been hard to do it then, impossible now. We were just so desperate, devistated and wanting our own home again. We would have fallen for anything.

oh as far as beliving what is going on in DC? yes. THey said in the campaigns they were going to do it. They told the people that they would keep them in their homes, no matter what. When asked how, they said "the people better off will help pay for it" well congrats. we are those that are "better off" .
So, am I suprised. No. sad, sick, and discusted? yep. But I've been that way for months.

WHAT? I taught I saw a Democrat just now putting down one of the Golden Boy's policies... ... This pisses me off... I knew I saw a Democrat, I knew, I knew, I knew... Chelle, what lawyers made it get thrown out? They had to be hired by someone? If a quit claim is properly filled out, witnessed, and notarized, then it is a proper legal document and doesn't have to be done by a lawyer. It is like the landlord agreements you can download for free off of the Internet, just make sure it is legal in your state.

havingfunnow I went to 4 differnt lawyers in my town, because the title place uses them. I handed them it all. They said "oh yes, it looks in order, who was the lawyer?" I said noone. its not good enough. The last time I tried I lied. said a friend of the family. It was going through, THEN the title company idiot mentioned to the lawyer that I had done it and such. (I didnt get the stuff off th enet, I did it myself), and how impressed he was. That lawyer dropped it like a hot potatoe. I could take it to a judge, but its money out of my pocket that I dont have. And I do have to have a lawyer to help me put it together. Noone in the courthouse will help me. Its all a good ole boy network. But I have it all together, if anyone ever tries anything I will win. But right now, it doesnt matter, I am not using it as collateral.

Just an idea, but maybe you should call Druscilla Miller, and she if she has any suggestions. After all, you are a voter! Just don't tell her about the rifles...

I don't much care for either side 100%, or even 20% for that matter. I voted D last time around, I was leaning that way but scary Palin sealed the deal. I would have voted for Ron Paul in a heartbeat, well as long as he didn't choose the crazy Alaskan woman to go with him. Obama was not my first, second or even third choice. I make up my own mind on subjects, democrat or republican views aside. I guess you could say I lack the you're with me or against me mentality. I don't jump on board with anything because some party says I should. I would vote for a Republican if there was a good one to vote for, I do locally quite often. Nationally I was eligible to vote in 2000. I have yet to see a good Republican candidate. As much as I hate some of the stuff Obama is doing I will continue to thank my lucky stars I am not siting here praying John mcCain doesn't drop dead and leave us with psycho hockey mom. I hate that the bums are the ones benefiting the most in all this- but I will take that over falling over ourselves trying to be sure the rich get richer while the poor get poorer and poorer. It was explained to me like this once, the difference between R and D is empathy, one has it the other doesn't. So you can call me what ever you want, as long as it isn't Republican There is just WAY too much there I can't get on board with. Surprisingly enough most of my favorite people are Republicans, I don't understand them or agree with them most of the time, but I love them anyway and it makes for interesting conversation.

I never said I am a Republican, of which I am not. However, I do like to get Eileen riled up! I get emails from the DNC and the RNC all the time. For some reason they like me, but not necessarily the other way around. Once I was front row at a news conference, and noticed that a suit wearing an earpiece was trying to get me to move, so I decided not to move. The suit gave up and the person who stepped into the place made available was Newt Gingrich. During the conference, Mr. Gingrich and I were talking here and there, and it was caught on the news. After seeing it, people asked me what we talked about, and I told them "fishing". LOL In the 90's, I voted for and was a firm believer in H. Ross Perot, and the dire warnings he made for this country's economy. However, it was not to be because he would have blown the lid off of too many things; and people didn't want to believe it or hear his message. As far as the comment of empathy goes. WTH? Yeah, a lot of empathy with the recent lifting of stem cell research restrictions.

LOL Dru is my husbands cousins wife. and my kids 4-H shooting sports instructor. (for guns, they have a differnt one for Archery..LOL ) I might give her a call. Hadnt thought about her cause she is the treasurer for the county. Not really over land.. But Thanks Like I said, right now, its no big deal. I have all the letters, wont be using it for collateral, and pay the taxes. Noone has a better claim to it. And if they did, they would get 1/18th of an acre. LOL But I will call Dru. I also am becoming more friendly with a few other people in higher places in town. Being on committees with them helps.

I'm not sure why anyone, especially Democrats, is surprised by all of this. One of the biggest platforms of the Democrat party has always been Govt. handouts. Take from the "rich" to give to the poor. Not having to work for what you earn. Not having to earn your keep.

Stem cell research is a whole other argument. I guess it would depend where your empathy lies. Abortions happen every day, and would whether it was legal or not. Frozen embryos are "disposed" of every day. My empathy lies with the living children dying of leukemia or brain cancer, or anyone dying of some incurable disease. So if the choice is scrapping them in the dumpster or maybe potentially saving millions of lives, well I think it's obvious what I would choose. Death is not something that should ever be taken lightly be it an embryo or 90 year old, but if it comes down to the choice of an embryo that would go to waste over a living breathing child, I don't see the choice. I watched my aunt go through miscarriage after heartbreaking miscarriage, been there myself once... and not a one compared to the agony of losing her 6 year old son to cancer. Not. Even. Close. It could save my life someday, or the life of someone I love more than my own.
