My Dad is going to pass soon. That is what my nephew tells my aunt. He is on life support. He wouldn't want to be this way. My n wife is a doctor at this hospital. They are just keeping him alive. We don't take and this is very hard for me to hear that they are doing what he doesn't want. it also is hurting that they won't put him next to my Mom when he does pass. I want to just scream!!!. They is nothing I can do as they have power of attorney. I am very sad.....  |

Binkie,
I'm so sorry to hear about your dad. They are precious in our lives just like moms are. I hate that your family is doing what they are to him, and should respect him and do what they can FOR him. It's very difficult to do anything when you don't have any say so. You love him and he know that. I will keep him in my prayers.

I 'm very sorry to hear about your dad and I'm also sorry for your pain!.........This past August my mom ended up on life support and it was difficult for all of us to see her that way......
Please know that I'm keeping you all in my thoughts and prayers! ...

It is difficult to go through the passing of any parent. I don't know what your beliefs are in these matters, but will relate what I have gone through.
I have had to deal with this subject more than I ever cared to. I come from a very large family, that doesn't have long life expectencies. I don't have many elders left, and have lost cousins and nephews. The way I deal with it is that I don't know what God, the Great Spirit, fill-in-the-blank, has planned. But I do know that if someone is suffering, sometimes letting them go is a blessing. My mother died of colon cancer in 2003, and did not survive the operation to cure it. That was her choice, and we suported her the best we could.
To save the Spousal Unit any worries, I have Advance Directives on file, so my choices will be followed. She is NOT happy with this, and says there is always a chance. But there is a time to let go.
I pray that you are given some peace with this, and hope your father led a full life. I am saddened that his wishes are not being followed, but there is a better place awaiting him.
