The ONE thing I have wanted since last week was a logger burger and bbq fries with fry sauce.. Now I can only get this ONE place.. Elgin
When I went on my trip I was in Elgin but we were bbq'ing and I didn't get my buger and fries. The next day I REALLY wanted them so I drove 20 miles to get them.. halfway there my sis called and said they were closed on Sunday... ARGH! What a waste of gas.. lol
I got into her town and they had changed to their summer hours and I got my logger burger and fries!
Did I feel guilty? Well a little but I only ate half the burger and half the fries but I relished every bite.. what a treat!
The BIG thing I noticed? When I weighed myself on my moms scale there was a 8 lb difference over when I weighed myself on my moms scale! SOOO guess what? NO NEED to get discouraged until I got back to the scale I normally use (THANK you Audrey for being so insightful!)
The point is.. the thing I've learned from Audrey and her having nachos is that you SHOULD indulge every now and then but don't let one indulgence set you back...
If you give in to a logger burger and fries.. no big deal.. as Fergui says.. stop when you feel the sigh... then be happy and go on with life.. pick your diet back up where you left off and go on with life.
I might not fit into my size 12's tomorrow but if I get back on track I WILL fit into them next week and if I only indulge every great once in awhile I will even fit into a size 10 in a month or so an have a healthier way of life by then as well with a treat thrown in every couple of weeks or so.

Oh Connie, I'm so excited my advice helped you. I only use my scale at home. And I only weigh myself first thing in the morning before I've eaten food.
I had lunch with some friends yesterday. One of them said "Audrey you are soooo skinny". Ok, skinny I'm not LOL, but it's still nice when folks notice that I have lost weight.
I've had a rough week. I did not work out Saturday or Sunday. I also ate several meals out.
So...today...I will workout and I will eat 3 meals from home, much lower in calories. I get so mad when the scale goes up LOL and it's MY scale at home.

And I need to say KUDOS for eating half and then throwing it away. Think of all the calories you saved

Yes, it's all the mindset! I haven't been walking but I haven't seen the scale going up yet either. Like I told Audrey, I'm determined! I need the walking, not only for the exercise, but for the company and time unload or vent. If I at least go out on my days off, I'll be good. I think when I get used to the new work, I should be able to walk then, if the time allows (not sure of my schedule yet). I'll get there!!

You will get there Fergui! Yay Audrey! Now I feel like a slacker.. the last two weeks I have maintained but not lost. I have slacked off on walking, slacked off counting. Today I feel blah.. I MUST get back into the swing of things. Im still careful of what I eat and still making mostly good choices, Im sure that logger burger and fries and fry sauce didn't help.. lol.. oh and I also drank REAL pepsi while I was away. Mostly because I hate diet tea and thought I grabbed a bunch of just plain tea with no sweeteners at all.. nope it was the same calories as pepsi so I chose pepsi..

Connie...that one burger and fries meal is FINE...really it's FINE. Even if it was 1000 calories. So what??? You did it one time. Think of the weight watchers "concept". You have x amount of points per day with x amount for the "extras". Or the core plan where you can eat all the core foods but then you get x amount of points for the "extras". We all want that burger and fries ONCE IN A WHILE. It's when you do it daily that it adds up and starts adding pounds on. Once in a while is fine. Ok...so it's been two weeks. You've not gained weight. This is HUGE. This is WONDERFUL. Now make a plan on how you'll make some changes to get exercise back in your life Forget the past two weeks. They're gone. Make a plan starting NOW. Ok....done LOL

Thanks Audrey, I know you're right... I must get back on track and not let the little setbacks get in the way.. I need some motivation. I was doing so well the first month and need to get back to THAT mindset..

I had to drive my daughter 45 minutes south last night. She had to be there at 5pm. When I went to get back on the freeway, there was an Arby's. We don't have an Arby's here and I've not had an ArbyQ in 5 years at least. I stopped and got one. I REFUSED to eat it in the car. I really wanted to enjoy it. So, I took it home and then ate it at home, thoroughly enjoying it. I did look up calories and it was only about 350. Not bad. Yes, fat and carbs, but only 350 calories LOL.

Good for you Audrey! 350 calories isn't bad AT ALL! It actually sounds pretty yummy...
