Since last weekend I've been having a little bit of trouble with scam.com and I was wondering if anyone else is too. Up until then I was able to use the forum search function w/o any trouble. Now when I try to search, I get the little red "x" where their 6 digit/letter verification code should be...the one you have to type in to continue with what you're doing.
I can't search, and since I'm not yet a registered user of scam.com, I can't contact the admin. or register because both of those require the verification code too.
I've tried both IE & Firefox, I've tried adjusting my browser's security settings, I've gone through all my usual sources for help with the problem, I've played with my flash player (upgrading/downgrading/uninstalling & reinstalling) and nothing works. Some IT pros have told me it's the site and a problem with their coding. I can see these verification codes on every other site, including vbulletin which is the type of message forum scam.com uses. I've looked the domain name up with a whois and emailed the address listed their as the admin. but that's been a few days w/o a reply.
Is anyone else having this trouble too? If you don't know, click on the Search link and see if the verification image appears for you. And can someone please bring this up to an admin. or moderator of scam.com? I'd love to get back to being able to use the search function and wouldn't mind registering either. Thanks alot!

Thanks for trying Connie.
I can't register because registration requires entering the verification code too...which I can't see.
Back to square one...that it might be my computer. But I have no idea why it would stop working. If anyone has any ideas, feel free to offer advice. Something like that is viewed using flash player...mine is updated. My security settings haven't been changed to block it. I'm out of ideas. Maybe the admins at scam.com would know.

I just signed out and I see what you are talking about. Wow! That explains a LOT.. they just made some huge changes last week and if you aren't a guest this wouldn't have been noticed by any of us. I will send zachary an email and let him know whats going on. Hopefully he can fix it quickly! Thanks!

Thanks again! I was just coming back to say I've been doing some reading and everything points to the fact that it's something to do with the site's programming. I don't mind having to register to be able to use the Search, but I have to be able to register first. LOL Must admit I'm relieved, thought I was going crazy.

Not crazy! On the 5th they made some major changes and I suspect this has been going on since then because it has been unusually quiet (a nice break for us mods but still weird).

He hasn't replied but I noticed new members (including the spammers) are showing up again, so give it a try!

Just checkin a few things while I'm home for a minute. Noticed the Search format has been changed to something new and it works w/o verification. Also don't need to verify to register, but I'll do that when I have a bit more time. Thanks for bringing it to their attention for me, Connie.
