Im putting this here because while I don't know the whole story I also can't believe that no charges are being filed? I also thought that keeping wild animals was illegal AND we have had others who were hoarding just domestic animals and they were arrested? BOISE - Police and animal agencies are on the scene of a property near Melba – after a case of animal hoarding was discovered in Owyhee County. Nineteen wolves, seventeen bobcats, more than 60 house cats and numerous dogs were living in deplorable conditions on property owned by Sandy Knox. www.ktvb.com/news/localnews/stories/ktvbn-apr2308-animals.91e18dd3.html

There is more coming out on it now. Apparently she had permits for all the wolves, they are letting her keep two. She says the bobcats were born in captivity which would make them legal... still weird

Why would you want a "pet" that you are afraid of and have to keep caged? And why are they giving her permits?

Good questions.. I don't know.. there were 19 permits issued for wolves last year.. ALL to her.. you would think they would start questioning what was going on instead of just giving them to her.

yep, and I bet the program that gave her those permits costs the taxpayers a good million a year..
We have animal cops houston that deals with things like that. ITs on the animal planet channel. THe spca does it. I think there is an animal cops detriot too.
There have been a few horders around here busted, but none with wild animals I dont think. Just cats or dogs.
Its sad. But in most cases its also a desise. I can understand how you would do it. I wont even go to a shelter for fear of being one. I try to stay away from puppies and kittens and such. That way I dont get sucked in. LOL

OH I know connie. where is the common sense?
I also know that there are times I could just up and leave the whole herd I have here. When the dogs wont stop tripping me, the cat is on a hissy and uses the bathroom rug as her litter box, the fish tanks need cleanin, the horses need wormin and the kids need baths. I cant imagine having 100's of anything..
well except goats. But that was a farm animal. you are supposed to have hundreds ot you dont make any money. LOL
GGGGGGGGGGGRRRRRRRRRRR just like now. The cat just jumped over BR's chair, knocking off his glass that he left there with milk in it. this woke up the dog, who decided now is a good time to chase her through the house and so she jumped up on the fishtank, almost knocking over an ivy.
