Project Payday is legit as far as I know. The Free Online Cash System, the one I'm in took some core elements of Project Payday. And I know the admins respect the founders of that program.

There are 2 ways to make money with Project pay day. One is you can sign up for offers. The other is to become an affiliate and promote them. They pay 2.00 per sign up. It is easy to promote them as they are free.

I have done project payday a couple of yrs. ago. Though its a little daunting there are some good ppl at this site that will help you along. You do have to read the forums that are located on this site to find out the rules and regulations. It does take time but if you have the time to spare and read up on what they are doing you can make some money.

is affiliate marketing a legit way to make money and how do you learn this (i.e. create a website, get affiliates onit, etc.)?

Any affiliate program that is legit is going to have some training with it. Be it Avon or mary kay, or any of a number of affilate sites. It they don't have training stay away from them. That does not mean they hold your hand all the way but they do give you all the info you need to work their program. They don't make money if you don't, so shy away from those that JUST want money and have nothing else to show you for it. is there any way to find out where to get the training? it seems as if they all want to give you little tidbits of info or overwhelm you with info, but nobody really gives you the nuts and bolts of it. i want to learn how to create the website and aquire the affiliates but nobody showa you the mechanics of it. i've been reading up on it for the past week and even invested in one. but, i'm not sure what makes iot tick and how to get it to work for me. all these programs tell you id that you have to do this and add this but noe of them tell you how. assuming i'm a computer novice (which i'm not) there has got to be somewhat simplistic ways of going about it. especially if there are so many people doing it. maybe i'm wrong, perhaps there is someone out there that is willing to mentor someone. karma will be on your side as i am motivated by unemployment. Thanks for listening anyway.

Hi Elmizmo.. it sounds like you are needing help with regular online affiliate marketing more than Direct sales type training... is that correct? If Im right.. check out the affiliate marketing section here and ask questions.. Im happy to try and mentor you or get you going in the right direction at least.
Affiliate marketing training is a whole animal in and of itself but there is a lot of information out there, just getting the basics down is a huge step in the right direction.

There are two things here.....affiliate programs and direct sales companies.
Avon and MaryKay are direct sales companies. Their training comes from the company and from the person you sign up under.
Affiliate marketing is different. For example, I'm an affiliate for Amazon.com This means I can put their banner on my personal site and if someone clicks and orders I get paid a commission. Connie has tons of affiliate information here on the site.

Hey, a man hosting mary kay parties could be a selling point all by itself!
With affiliate marketing you have many different areas you can look into. Did you check out the affiliate marketing section here to get an idea of whats involved?

Many questions with even more answers (place thoughtful smiley here). A degree in psychology only lets you know why some people react the way they do, and does very little to help you deal with them. I have dealt with many programmers, who would have been much better off in either the housekeeping or food service industries (thank you Bill Murray). While it would be nice to get everything handed out in a nice neat package, but why would you want something like that? You can buy one! Thousands of others have done so and flooded the market with the right-out-of-the-box work-at-home business systems. The prices will vary from a few hundred to thousands. I will not say that those systems did not work AS BEING ADVERTISED at one time, but I will say that their markets are over-saturated and they don't work that way now. I once heard someone say that a person will change careers until they are content with what they do for what they are paid. You asked if you should sell your expertise or sell someone else's. I would advise that if you are going to sell something, then sell something that you believe in and are passionate about. Building an online business and clientèle is not something that happens overnight, so I recommend that you find your niche, and work at it. Because if you aren't interested in something, then you are not going to give it your best effort(s). Both Connie and Audrey alluded to the fact that there are sections of the board that you should visit and read. In those sections, there are links that can be followed for more in-depth information and lots of experience to be had without having to recreate the wheel. So I would advise you listen to the ladies, and spend the next few days (lots of reading) becoming more familiar with direct sales and affiliate marketing. My last advice is that you ignore all suggestions to sell Mary Kay! Louis
