This really really REALLY bugs me... Last weekend I was reading a story about how the AZ bill is causing all these economy problems.. One illegal was even complaining that she was upset because she would have to go back to Mexico where they would be poor. Here her kids had health insurance (medicare)!!!! Well guess what? Im legal and my kids DO NOT have health insurance... Now because of the AZ problems.. our bill has bit the dirt. www.ktvb.com/news/localnews/stories/ktvbn-mar0708-illegal_hiring.306c526a.htmlBOISE - Idaho lawmakers have killed a measure that would crack down on employers who knowingly hire illegal immigrants. The House State Affairs Committee unanimously rejected a proposal today that could have suspended or revoked companies' licenses for employing illegal aliens. It's modeled on a law in Arizona that went into effect in January. The Arizona law has caused scores of immigrants to flee to other parts of the country or back to their homeland. Lawmakers on the committee say they are concerned about the law's potential impact on Idaho's economy.

Ya know what connie I live here in AZ and was just as happy as a clam when that law passed. It was nice to see half the population dissapear overnite. I do get peeved off as my hubby is a permanent resident alien here in the united states and has paid all the fees to be able to work and live here and to be my husband he is approaching ten years here in the states in april and will be taking his citenship test in April. Now if he can do it so can anyone else that wants to live here.

Good for him! I have no problem with immigrants at all. They are what this Country is based on afterall..
My only problem is with the illegals.. do it right or don't come here at all. I can't imagine going overseas to Italy or anywhere else and expecting them to speak MY language and give ME a job and give ME welfare and ME, NOT have to live by the rules their citizens live by.

That's exactly right, Connie! I get so upset about the same issue. I can go on a tirade about that for hours, it makes me so mad!! We're turning over our country to them and not a shot was fired! Why? Grrrrr!!!

Because SO many people feel that no one will work for the same wages... Do you remember growing up and working on farms or whatever job you could get for min wage or less? I do and I did it. My friends and I all had jobs before we were 16 and learned a lot. There ARE kids wanting to work and even adults who will take anything if they could find it..

Connie, sorry to hear that your state's illegal immigration bill bit the dust. I suspect Idaho lawmakers were just as concerned about being branded racist as they were about the bill's impact on Idaho's economy. Too bad they weren't man enough to do what was best for their state and the country as a whole. Hopefully another state will get the balls to do what Arizona has done, if not we can kiss our beloved country goodbye.

Yep.. I am so sick of hearing about how it will impact the economy... umm what difference does that make? Why do we have laws if we don't have to follow them?

You're so right, Connie. The impact, if any, on the economy from enforcing our immigration laws is something we can work out as it happens. In the mean time we, the people, have got to stop letting our "leaders" use the economy excuse to avoid doing their job. And if the economy does get tight as a result of illegals being deported we can always start victory gardens like our grandparents did during WWII.

It's nice to see people who agree with my viewpoints. I fully agree that immigrating is great...do it legally! I hate my money going to illegals!

This site is great..love the conversations; so widespead. Yes, I agree Connie: If you want to live in this wonderful country, go through the right channels....people need to jump through the hoops to get their carrot; Our ancestors bled to make this country...the least these people can do is sign some freaking paperwork (well, paperwork, attend classes, etc...its not like they are being told to stand fast, point a gun, and survive)

People should either come here legally or not come here and then expect us to speak their language. That is just ridiculous. They take our jobs and we pay their insurance and meds. They also birth their kids here just to stay here. WOW!!!
What bothers me is that I had a friend who wanted a chance in show business and never got it when he was very talented and now they are giving it to immigrants. My friend was three generations Americn born.
