She wanted to see her dad who was imprisoned for using meth. He had a few months left to serve in prison and had been fighting to get to see her which was her dying wish. He did get to see her a few days before she died but for only 20 mins. In all honesty.. Im torn on this one... on one hand.. he should have thought about all this before he started using drugs or continuing to use them (she was diagnosed when she was 3)... On the other hand.. wow.. poor little girl.. should she have to pay for her dads crime? abcnews.go.com/TheLaw/story?id=4543459&page=1

I am pretty sure he got to see her during his incarceration.
It seems to me he was even at her treatments. ??
I cant feel sorry for him. AT ALL. how many of our soldiers are over there fighting so we dont get blown up in a car bomb for going to church (infedels that we are) and their babies are born, with outthem. They die in accidents with out them . They loose spouces, parents, friends and are not here to say good bye. A ANd they havent broken the law.
A responsible parent is one that thinks of their kids before they make decisions. HE wasnt arrested because he accidentaly had some crack.
How much money was he spending to do it? How much was he 'there' when he was strung out? How much did he pay attention to her BEFORE he went to jail?

That's how I feel about it too. She was diagnosed when she was three... Ummm he didn't know this fact when he started using?

Im sure he did know but if you read all the information on meth he probably didn't care as that is what drugs will do to you.....I do feel bad for him on the loss of his little girl and that he didn't get to see her enough. Ultimatly as is the case he ended up hurting him self more by the drug use but he was not a murderer or baby raper I think this was a circumstance where the authorities could have let him spend more time with his daughter.

I disagree... there is enough information out on drugs and especially meth these days that as an adult you KNOW if you pick it up and try it just that one time.. there is a GOOD chance you will continue..
As a father, he shouldn't have started using to begin with. Besides you can't bend the rules in prison based on what the crime is.. if you aren't going to let the rapist out to visit his dying child you can't let the drug user out to visit his.

I agree with you on that point Connie the problem is people are basically still just stupid animals. You would think by now that we could use our intelligence more wisely but as the fault of man we don't.

In my opinion I think they should have gave him an early release, as long as he went into drug treatment to deal with his addiction and had some form of supervised release probation etc. He could spend the last days with his daughter.

The amount of drug dealers that get early release is already astonishing. I DOUBT he served flat time. I am sure he was sentenced to 10-15 and got 3-5. thats how the system works.
Why should I be killed tommorow cause you let a meth head out of prison early? Now he is feeling bad, all destrot, and what is the first thing he will turn to? Meth. now he is an unstable individual. who will he kill? who will he rob?
Letting someone out of prisn that has done their time and has no major life crisis at the time is already a recipe for reincarnation, letting out a drug user that has a life altering problem will indeed send them on a downward spiral 99 times out of a 100.
Plus, my credit card debt isnt forgiven cause my baby gets sick. I still have to pay for my past transgressions
