I thought this sounded pretty weird but I tried it and it works like a charm. The best part is you use no oil so there's no added fat. Simply take a sandwich bag and toss in two slightly beaten eggs and any other ingredient you want (veggies, cheese, cooked meat, etc). Put it in a pot of boiling water and boil for 13 minutes. Voila'

Very easy! Can you use regular sandwich bags or do you need to use freezer bags that are thicker?

Sorry, Connie. I didn't see your question til now. Yes, you just use regular sandwich bags. Nothing special needed! :-)

We have done this with a big crowd. We boil a huge pot of water.
Then everyone makes their own omelets. We use the ziplock bags that have a place on the outside so we can write our names on the bags so we know which one is ours.
It is a lot of fun. Kids love it.
Throw them all in a pot & in 13 minutes you have dinner.

Something about this just seems wrong! It's like egg pie or keeshhhh! I won't eat eggplant, bring it back when it decides on what it is, an egg or a plant - George Carlin

You can add small pieces of diced ham, grated cheese, mushrooms, red pepper, to the eggs too. Their very good omelets & everyone participates. It is fun.

I haven't tried it yet but now that it was brought up, I need to! Katies loves her eggs and I hate cooking them.. this is an easy compromise and I can sneak in veggies!

I knew there was something wrong with this whole idea. So instead of using ZIPLOC bags, I'll just use GLAD bags This reminds me about the dangers of plastic/styrofoam in a microwave. I have posted a HAAAAARVard link below: www.health.harvard.edu/healthbeat/HEALTHbeat_081606.htm
