I thought it would be nice to share.
I am searching for a couple of graduation presents and a birthday present. Shopko has some very nice jewelry and it is over 50% off right now so I might go see if I can find a nice graduation present for my daughter. I should be able to get a necklace or bracelet that usually sells for over $100 for about $40.
I also took the balance off my one and only credit card (has had free interest which expires this month) and transferred it to a new one I applied for which has zero interest until next January. It is a small balance (under $500) so we can pay it off without paying a bunch of extra charges.

My daughter and I went to garage sales this morning. We have so much fun and always find such bargains. She bought a jigsaw puzzle. I actually bought my other daughter a bicycle. We stopped at Starbucks on the way and had a great time. Often we buy novels at garage sales. Most times we pay only 25 cents per book. What a great deal. Audrey www.scrapping-made-simple.com

I love garage sales Audrey! I always forget to look at it as a way of saving money but almost all of Katies toys have come from garage sales, I also buy all my books at garage sales and most of my clothes as well. You can get some great deals!

I can buy used books, used puzzles, used toys, but I can't buy used clothes. I just can't. I have a friend who has the coolest clothes. She buys everything at thrift stores. I just have this mental block against buying used clothes. So, I work hard at buying clothes as inexpensively as possible. For example, I wear skirts every single day. I can get them at blair.com and at Ross for under $10. I think this is a great bargain. Truly, I can buy 10 new skirts and pay only $100. I know some folks who pay $80 for one new skirt. Shirts, I only buy clearance. Again, I use blair.com and buy their old stock and I shop the outlets. My daughter and I print coupons for the outlets and shop when there are sales. I can get shirts for about $5.99 each. What I need right now and can't seem to find inexpensively are what I call sweater jackets. They are jackets, but they are soft and washable and look more like a sweater, but they are solid fabric not knitted like a sweater. I used to be able to get them at onehanesplace, but now they don't carry them anymore. Mine are old and very very faded from all the washings. If you know of any sources that sell these at sale prices, I'd love to know. Audrey www.scrapping-made-simple.com

Audrey one of the best places for buying decent clothes very cheaply is www.classiccloseouts.com . I don't know if you have looked at their stuff but they have great deals especially in the clearance section.

Connie, Thanks for the tip. I will check them out. I have never heard of them. Finally, we have gorgous weather here, needing to use the AC, so it's a great time to shop for jackets Audrey www.scrapping-made-simple.com
