Instead of using an expensive aerosol or spray product, which may be inhaled by accident, just moisten your dusting cloth with a few drops of olive oil mixed into 2 Tbsp lemon juice. This picks up dust, smells good and leaves a rich shine, particularly on wood.

Ohhh I LIKE this one! I will try it. I have two bottles of virgin olive oil that I just don't know what to do with since I don't cook with it too often and it isn't the right kind for regular salads etc. Plus I just got that free little bottle in the mail a couple of weeks ago!

This thread reminded me of something. I purchased a cloth called a "Supercloth" from QVC months ago. I thought they were kidding when they said it would replace your window cleaner. They weren't kidding. You simply get it wet, wring it out really well and it cleans everything. I use it to dust but I especially like it on windows and any glass surface. I don't even own Windex any more.
I have that little tiny bottle of olive oil (freebie) from a few weeks ago. I'm going to try your tip!

I have seen the "Supercloth" on QVC too Cyndy! I am so excited that it does work as well as they say it will. I will have to get one for my dh to use on the car, might make that chore a little easier!

I use it on the inside windshield of my car and it works well. I especially love how you don't have to spray anything first and use paper towels, etc. So many times you see them demonstrate something, only to find out it doesn't work. This really does work.

It occurs to me that I should clarify something. There are two types of cleaning cloths sold on QVC. One is called the "Supercloth" and the others are called "Superwipes". The first one is the one I was referring to (it's called a "European cleaning secret" or something like that). It is the one that you wet and wring out well to use mostly on glass (although I use it to dust wood also).
The latter (Superwipes) are blue and are more like a chamois. They can be used for scrubbing cars, floors, or any cleaning really.
Just wanted to be sure that I let everyone know there are two different cleaning cloths. I have both but especially like the Supercloth (is there such a thing as actually LIKING a cleaning product?). :-)

Do you remember how much the supercloth costs? It sounds fantastic! There is always a code floating around for first time QVC orderers, I will have to dig it up and try this out!

Sorry it's taken me so long to reply about this but now that I have a new computer.............
There are two ways to get the cloth. Item V22408 is $18 and includes ONE Supercloth and 5 Superwipes. Item V9035 is THREE of the Supercloths and is $23.25. Shipping is $3.97 for either order. I have used the Superwipes and they are nice, but the Supercloths are the real cloths that I love for all glass surfaces. The set I got was the first set I mentioned and I have used my Supercloth now for about 6 months and it's as good as new. :-)

If anyone is interested in buying or getting more information about the SUPERCLOTH ("The European Cleaning Secret") discussed above, the kind that QVC used to carry, you can do so at my SUPERCLOTH Shop web site at www.superclothshop.com. SUPERCLOTH Shop is a U.S. distributor for the product. We import them from Italy and sell them online (with free shipping). It really is a fabulous product. I have used them for many years, and liked them so well that I wanted to sell them!
