We took our boy & g/f's niece to see Alvin & the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel tonight. Really good movie, they loved it We went to one of our area's small theaters, only 2 screens. This one is 1 of 4 smaller theaters this company owns in the area. $6/ticket, which includes a soda & bag of popcorn. I really do enjoy the experience because I feel they make it more personal and go above & beyond to make it enjoyable. There's only a few people working who take the tickets & serve the snacks. They all dress real nice, guys in suit & tie. Before every movie, one of them comes out & greets everyone, thanks everyone for coming & tells a little about the movie. Afterward they stand & hold the door for you on your way outside. Tonight he informed us that we were the first audience of 2010...everyone clapped & cheered. LOL You look at a place like this realizing they only charge $6 for a movie, soda AND popcorn when the bigger theaters charge nearly $10 for the ticket alone. Sure these smaller ones don't have the fancy stadium seating or high end sound system, but I don't enjoy the movie any less because of it.

I love those kinds of theaters. We have one or two left but they are farther away. I can't wait to see the squeakquel! It looks like so much fun.

It was cute, I think the first one was better though. OC I wish we had something similar around it sounds like a great experience, I would probably go to a lot more movies. I so rarely go to a cinema, I just don't care for it... I do do the drive in all summer long though. You can't beat 2 movies for 6 bucks. Plus you can go in your jammies and bring Subway with you, lol.
