I visited a site where someone makes a lot on this. He emailed me back and I phoned him today. He couldn't talk but told me he will phone me tomorrow and tell me how this works. I hope he does not ask for money since I will not pay for info nor buy a book.

It's good that you won't pay. I don't think this is a good idea. A lot of people are earning money through these programs but never receive the money because the whole program gets shut down. Twitter is really cracking down on them. Plus, you'll get your own account suspended.

Are you saying I am not supposed to earn money on Twitter?

Well, I don't know which program you're talking about, but if it's through advertising in your tweets, then Twitter is really against that. Basically it's just kind of risky and a waste of time, IMO.

Tweety, I think it would all make more sense if you really understood what Twitter is about. It is NOT a place that pays you an income. These are just more affiliate marketing programs. No different than the others you have looked at and paid for.
Unless you are Ashton Kutcher and have a million followers the chance that you can throw a link out there and get someone to bite is pretty slim.
Do you already have a lot of followers? How long have you been using Twitter? You need to use it and understand what it's about before you look at any of these "make money with twitter" programs.
