I've heard this new diet plan called Lemon Cleansing from my friend. I'm trying to recommend this to my wife as she already tried 3 different diet plans but to no avail.
Has anyone tried this? Is it really effective?

1st. It's not new. Research Master Cleanse, Lemonade Diet, Maple Syrup Diet.
2nd. It's not healthy. You're depriving your body of nutrients, and starving yourself. Once you start eating again you gain all the weight back.
3rd. The only real way to loose weight is A.) Excercise B.) Eat Healthy and watch calories.
I'm sure it's been told time and time again, but it really is the only way. Plus your wife has to WANT to do it, and make her life better, unfortunatley this is something she has to do on her own.
Best of luck to her!

Im with Kayla on this.. I just don't see how it could be nutritionally healthy or good for the long term.
Anyone can lose weight short term but then what? I think the simplest and also the hardest way, is to change your portion size and excersise..
Also change the way you think about food.. Have a piece of cake.. BUT make it a small sliver of cake.. Have bbq'ed ribs for dinner.. but do you really need half a rack? You want ben and jerrys ice cream.. no biggie... have a couple of spoonfuls and NOT the entire half pint.. etc..
Now if I could just get myself to make all this work when it comes to Pepsi... sigh

Big problem with those cleanse diets, and there are a lot of them. THey make you start talking or posting jibberish. Not enough nutriants to the brain. So start eating ddddyy and tinglytexter, start eating.

I started eating oatmeal at least 5 mornings a week and drink water any time I think I'm hungry at night. I have only been losing a pound a week for 5 weeks now. But that could add up after a year don't you think? Hang in there Jen.

I have heard of that diet because one time someone came to our church about it and they claimed that's all they do is only drink this stuff w/o eating anything. I don't see how anyone can just do that. You can do a body cleansing by fasting for a few days (up to you how many days you wanna do it) or you can do this lemon water thing and work out b4 u eat a meal. I love lemons and I usually do the vinegar and water thing before I eat but it seems like i just get too lazy to do it and sometimes forget. Diets do not work. I believe you just have to learn to have self-control over your own bodies and know how to limit your portions of food. Also, learn how not to eat late at night by eating before 8pm. That can help. I am still working on it.

I agree with you strongly. Forget about counting calories. I believe its a waste of time because regards if you do do that, you still gonna eat what you want. You should NOT keep yourself from eating certain things. Especially if its something you really enjoy. I know i'm not. But, on the same token, I am willing to stick with eating the right portions and getting more physical activity if I don't have time to exercise b4 i eat something for the rest of the day. That is my goal. Im with Kayla on this.. I just don't see how it could be nutritionally healthy or good for the long term. Anyone can lose weight short term but then what? That is right sister lol. My sister is into Pepsi but my hubby has drunken sodas and juices all his life because his mom raised him into that. But, every once in a while I encourage him to drink water sometimes. You see when you get used to drinking flavored things, you don't wanna turn it down for something that is really needy for your body. I drink sodas sometimes but not all the time. Hey girls, little of everything will not hurt you. he-he...so agreed!! Will not abandon my mountain dew for nobody!!!!!!

The diet is for cleansing not dieting. It is to help get toxin out of your body. I did this before i had a kidney transplant in the hospital under docs. Though I did lose 15 lbs it was because my body had toxins in it. From my kidneys not working properly.

I have read some on the cleansing. I could see where it could be a good way to get your body healthier and start loosing weight. I would think most of the weight lost would be liquid going out of your body. But just the weight lost from the cleansing could give you confidence to feel good about being lighter and you might start eating smarter. I am not sure about the cleansing of toxins and it effecting you losing weight over a period of time. I do not think it is the answer to loosing weight. Like many posted here you have to change your entire way of eating. Whether it be calories, portions, fats, sugars, protein and carbs all play a part in your weight. You need to find what will work for you and make it a life long way of eating. Can be very difficult I assume since there are so many over weight. It has been a challenge for me. I think at different stages in your life it can differ at what will work best to keep your weight where it is healthy. What I did in my twenties will not work in my sixties.
Good Luck
