Ok, here's my idea for a movie thread.
What movies do you think are important for others to see?
I would like to see people say something about who they think would benefit from seeing the movie, or who would particularly enjoy it and why.
My idea is we all have seen movies that really spoke to us, or contain a message so important that we think others would benefit from viewing.
Ideally, people will actually explain why they recommend the movie, not just simply name them.
I have a couple in mind to get the ball rolling.

The documentary 28 Up! released in 1985 is part of an ongoing British series that tracks the lives of 14 people, beginning when they were seven years old. Every seven years, director Michael Apted finds these people and interviews them for the series.
The movie 28 Up! is the fourth installment of the series and incorporates footage from years, 7, 14, 21 and 28 of the subject's lives (since the release of 28 Up! there has been a 35 Up! and a 42 Up! is expected in 2011 or 12).
The movie shows how much of a person's life is set by age seven. It's very interesting to watch the fourteen different lives unfold over seven year increments. It's eye-opening to see how much of the adult is already present in the child and how much of the child comes through to adulthood.
I think anyone with kids or anyone interested in sociology would enjoy this movie.

What movies do you think are important for others to see? Depends a lot on the person, a lot of different perspectives out there. I am waiting for "Taking the Bunny Ranch Express" to come out on RedTube or SpankWire, so both Eileen and OrganizedChaos will be happy!
I would like to see people say something about who they think would benefit from seeing the movie, or who would particularly enjoy it and why. An expose could be "Why Michael Moore voted for John McCain: The battle for movie dollars.".
My idea is we all have seen movies that really spoke to us, or contain a message so important that we think others would benefit from viewing. Well, we have had 'talkies' for a long time now, and messages like 'Drink Coke' have been made illegal. So I guess I'm a little confused.
Ideally, people will actually explain why they recommend the movie, not just simply name them. I get it now! You mean that when your Spousal Unit watches Million Dollar Baby or Misery for the umpteenth time, why it is beneficial for your health to hide! I have a couple in mind to get the ball rolling. Is that the sequel to Pineapple Express? Forget it. I heard it costs $20 just to look and another $100 if you want the alternate "happy ending."
