I just can't seem to wrap my brain around this being right... They were supposed to start playing badly so the other team could feel better? DALLAS -- A Texas high school girls basketball team on the winning end of a 100-0 game has a case of blowout remorse. Now officials from The Covenant School say they are trying to do the right thing by seeking a forfeit and apologizing for the margin of victory. highschool.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=903780

That is absolutely ridiculous! I can understand putting in the 3rd string after the score is 50-0 but what can the winning team do if the scrubs are still beating the crud out of the other team? I think this whole issue has to do with a lot more than a game. Some people, or teams, are better or even excellent than others. This not something to feel bad about. Life is not fair, some are just better than others for whatever reason-thats why pro atheletes get paid millions to play with balls and sticks. Those kids whouldn't have to forfeit their win, but there is something to be said for being a good winner.

That's how children are being raised today...they are shielded from disappointment to keep from getting their feelings hurt. Then when they grow older, they're not ready for the disappointment that awaits them in everyday life.
I think it's sad that anyone would try to make the winning team feel guilty for scoring 100. In my small town, with a tiny high school, a 100 point game was very elusive and was monumental if it happened. I see nothing wrong with this winning team continuing to shoot 3 pointers & whatever it took to score...after all, scoring is the point of the game. Maybe they wanted to achieve that 100 point game.
I do commend the losing team for their heart. They continued to play when they could have easily given up.
Mark Cuban wants to treat the losing team to a Mavericks game, but what about the winning team? They are not the bad guys in all of this.
