Hi all, Does anyone have any info on 'workathomenoscams' who posts here frequently? there is no email address listed. If not ill try to post through the linked website. I think I will be able to support my family short term by ramping up my private tuition business but I do need to get going on the affiliate stuff within the next two months. I am thinking of signing up with Wealthy Affiliate University. Any info on them? Are they legit? I don't mind spending on my education but I hate wasting hard earnt money.

I honestly don't know anything about their program except that if they charge for it.. I would be leery.. there is so much free information out there. If you really feel they can teach something that you can't get for free.. then go for it.. but if they are just teaching basic affiliate marketing tactics.. I would start with uberaffiliate and skip the payment.. find out if it's worth your money.
I have never paid to learn about affiliate marketing but I also don't make thousands of dollars a day.. I don't even make hundreds of dollars a day.. (one day I did)...
I also don't believe paying someone to teach me would make a difference though.. there are just some things Im not willing to promote and they happen to be the things that make big money. Im also not willing yet to venture into adwords... again.. something that makes big money but you need to have a decent amount of money to invest to start with..
That's my two cents... we have others here who are more experienced than I am so hopefully they will give their two cents as well.

The internet is so vast and there are plenty of free content around that offer techniques in affiliate marketing. While some programs attempt to pose as a one stop shop to all the affiliate training you need, one of the programs is sometimes they have content and materials that are not so uptodate. The money really being spent on these is the time saving involved since you don't have to search anymore. But searching is the best way so you can always get the most relevant tips. Doesn't even have to be in the form of training materials and ebooks. Participate in forums too so you can get into active discussions from other affiliate marketers and some are nice enough to share their wisdom too. And you know that forums are generally free and are powered by the community, take this one for example Hope this helps. I wouldn't pay for training IMO.

Besides getting the most relevant tips, searching also gives you a wide range of opinions.. There have been times I've read one tip and thought it was great but then reading an opposing view from another person makes me thankful I didn't run out and try the first guys idea.
Really spend a lot of time reading and learning and then take what you feel will work and give it a try.

Hi John, Wealthy is a legit organization. I have been told they give you what they say they will; they are akin to Success university, Leadership club, CopyCat SU, and a few other. They give you a small trial, with SU it 14days I think. I am not sure of the others. They have mentor programs, and vidcasts and teleconference and other training materials. Much of this you can learn on your own if you have the time and the persistence.
They all tell you in the end it is up to you. The fact of the matter the great amount of people who fail have no one to blame but themselves. It is time consuming to learn anything even harder to get good at it. Do your research, see if it makes sense to you and your needs. My own opinion is that I have not found "ONE" place that teaches you all you need to know, it is a process. Good luck and keep asking questions. Eileen

"wealthy affiliates" in MHO is not for beginners, it's a lot to learn, that you will never use, or remember. Not to say there isnt good stuff in it , there is, but if you are interested in affiliates work, start simple with something like mypowermall. Simple, easy to understand.
Your REAL task is learning to market your affiliate site, thats the hard part, getting the traffic which translates into sales which means money. I have some excellent resources on getting lots of free traffic (I've been scammed in some of these "free traffic" programs to,) so I will be happy to tell you which ones I use, if you want to PM me.
