Okay, so my father in law got sick last month, heart, stints, blood sugar running 600 for months at a time, high blood pressure, the whole nine yards.
SO BR decided that he needs to loose weight. I know he does. But dang he is hard to put on a diet.
I gave up years ago. he has gained a person since we married. actually 2. ME and another me. around his gut.. LOL
But I am now stepping into the foray of 'healthy eating' I despise it. the money it costs, the time it takes and the fact that he hates everything I cook.
I can only bake so much chicken with rice. or pork chops and corn.
I did find an enchalada recipe that he was okay with (chicken, cream of chicken soup and sour cream)
But thats it! I am counting calories. Cause he will NOT cut out bread, actually I am checking it all. mostly calories, but carbs too.
yesterday I made some baked chicken, with squash on it and seasoned with basil and garlic.
First thing he wanted to know what what was the green crap on there. I told him, he wanted to know what basil was. I told him an herb. then he refused to eat the squash and ate 3 chicken breasts instead.
Granted, I need to loose my gut. I was doing 200 sit ups a day to get rid of it, but it wasnt working, I hate C sections. so I quit. But I am at a good weight for me. Its just him that needs to loose.
So, he is tickin me off so much that I am now shoving food in just to be mean.. LOL I'll end up gaining weight.
And I have found myself telling him that yes he could have anothe yogurt, just to shut him up from his whining cause he is hungry..
He is hard to cook for. he has to have MEAT. actually he doesnt care if there is anything else. as long as there is meat. BUT, he doesnt like anything you would go to a resturant and get, unless its a steak and potato or a mexican food dish.
He needs to loose at least 80 pounds. probebly more. but he is a big guy and would look really funny under 200 pounds.
He used to lift weights, and that made him HUGE. he was 260 and rock solid. Now he works 16 hours a day and cant work out.
He also drives a truck. all that time. He does get out sometimes and walks up a few flight of stairs, BUT, its only for about a 20 minute stop and usually only 3 times a shift. And he works nights. So he has to stay awake. And he gets bored and hungry.
there are no snacks I can send with him that are low fat?.
He will eat yogurt, and cottage cheese with peaches. But what else??
he doesnt even like popcorn.
Should I just shoot him in his sleep and save us both the hospital bill from the heartattack he is bound to have soon?
