I persoanlly have tried every diet under the son, from the fat flush diet to the atkins. So far what has worked for me is portion control and exercise. I would eat more when I was on a diet then when I wasn't, because the more a counted calories or they told me I couldn't have carbs ect.. the more I would eat. So now if I want it I eat it, only half or a bite.

I too lost weight with portion control and exercise. It's almost one year since I began taking off weight and so far it's all stayed off

It works that way you don't have to worry about counting calories. The best book to read about portion control in "French Women Don't Get Fat"

I wouldn't say I count calories but I'm really really aware of what I eat.
