I used to do this. Great job for Mom's with kids at school. You make your own hours. I loved being a merchandiser. When my boss needed me to train, I became her right hand. Then I didn't like the job as much. I was boss over all our girls...

What does being a Hallmark Merchandiser entail? It seems pretty neat

Binkie: I'm a merchandising supervisor & no it's not as fun doing all the managerial work vs doing the merchandising. I actually look forward to when someone goes on vacation & I have to cover for them & do the fun stuff especially setting up the holidays! Being a Hallmark merchandiser entails doing all the ordering of the merchandise [cards, gift wrap, party-whatever is in your department], keeping it full & organized; returning all the holiday merchandise, setting every holiday according to plan. I tell my people: YOU MANAGE THIS DEPARTMENT LIKE YOU WOULD YOUR OWN STORE. Hallmark also pays hourly versus some of the other card companies that pay a commission. It is fun when you get to see the new stuff coming out. Right now for us it's the GIANT SONG CARDS or the ones with cranks & special effects. PM me for more information.
