Eileen, I wish I had more words of encouragement for you. I did read about the leg/butt pain and I'm one who would usually say "go to the doctor"

I know it's been tough going Eileen but I was just thinking.. even if you can't excersise right now.. concentrate on giving up some of the "sneak up on you" calories. No mayo.. use mustards for flavor.. Watch the salad dressings.. no oil on sandwiches, the vinegar is still okay and yummy.. cook in as little oil as possible.. no deep fried foods, etc.. Just making even the small changes can have a dramatic impact.. If you have to have something loaded in mayo (like potatoe salad) have just a couple of tablespoons.. Someone introduced me to the spray on butter.. OMG.. what a lifesaver! Also the spray on salad dressings are very yummy but don't have the calories.. Fat free sour cream.. not so bad..

Just getting some feed back from others actually helps a great deal. My husband is about a empathic as a brick. He has his own health problems and part of me thinks he might not like the competition if you catch my sarcasm.
I know I am a tuff lady and I will get through this. So many others have it so much worse. I just don't want the gains I have made both personally and with my business to get away from me.
So you folks keep replying, I will keep trying. It is funny don't you think how the INTERNET can keep people at such a distance yet still bring so many close. Now I am getting sappy, ::)going now. Talk to you later.

Eileen,
I've been using the internet since it became public. I've met some awesome people. When you join a community like this, you tend to find people you have things in common with or you find a board like this one board (weightloss) where everyone here shares the one thing in common. When you find things in common with others, bonds are formed.
We're here for you.

We have something in common, lol. I love my husband dearly but he is a very self involved individual and becomes more so as time passes, I think. I'm sorry, you are in pain, Connie makes good points. If it's your legs that bother you, try getting some small hand weights and do some small upper body exercises while sitting. It will keep you in the habit,l it's just too easy to step exercising and to hard to start again afterwards.

Tara, it is so spooky, alittle before I opened the forum I was kind of daydreaming and the thought hit me that I should get some weight to keep my arms strong. It is so cool. I love this place.

I do too, for the longest time I just lurked in the survey board. It's intimidating to join in but everyone here has been so nice, and Connie is awesome. I'm glad I 'joined in'

It is all centered in the small of my lower back. That is always there. The shooting pain down the legs is kind of intermittent. I noticed the other day that when I raise my arms (putting dishes up). It will shoot down my leg. I think I am getting better at handling it, but sometimes it stops me dead. I will look into a chiropractor but they all seem to have adds that make them look like ambulance chasers. I am thinking of getting an inversion couch. (You know, the one that lock about you ankles and you hang upside down) We will see how it goes. I just make it a point to try and keep moving. Real funny thing. I can do push ups. It hurts a very little bit to set up but once there I can do those girlie one (on my knees not my toes) I am going to do them every day and add just one more each time. I am up to 15 today. Weird, don't you think.

Just checking in. Not so good on the diet front but no gains at least. I am up to 20 pushups and will do that number for a week and than start one up a day again till I reach 30. Still having the back and leg pinch thing, but I seem to be getting able to handle it better. it does not freak me out so much any more. When it hits I just try to relax and let it pass. Hope all is going well with you all. It sure has been a full week all around hasn't it?

Good for her. We all need our inspirations don't we. When that fails, a big mean task master couldn't hurt. Go get em girl.
