A little late in the game but....
shaving cream also works well on mirrors to keep them from fogging/steaming up. I do it in both my bathrooms, just buff a little bit in and you will be able to see yourself after your shower.
plain old baking soda and a scrubby works twice as well on glass top stoves (which suck btw, lol) than the way over priced cleaner
vinegar makes a great cheap fabric softner and it does not build up on your clothes. Great for towels, it doesn't affect the absorbency.
Baking soda is also great for removing those dried up nasty bug remains on your windshield.
okay, baking soda is good for everything.

LOL.. yep it is! Im going to have to try your idea of using it on the glass stop stove. You know you are the second person from here who has said they don't like them. I love mine.

I hate it!! I wanted one in the worst way, I guess it gives credit to be careful what you wish for, lol. My mom bought me one a couple years ago. It is impossible to keep clean, even water burns on it. I'm glad you like your though

I am so the opposite... I am NOT good about taking the burner things out and soaking them and all that so I always had a yucky looking stove.. With the glass top... just wipe and clean, scrub every now and then when I've been lazy, etc.. I think it is a LOT easier to keep clean looking which is why I like it..
