I did Audrey. There is a gal in there who is from Omaha. She is the one who does not have a certificate to be a chef. This show cracks me up!! I can't believe all the drama and swearing! LOL

I always laugh at how they mess up so much. The gal who teaches cooking, that's almost scary LOL.

This weeks episode was good. I wondered if the gals had to eat everything on the table or if they could just try it and then walk away.

We have started tivo'ng this one, DH use to be in the restaurant biz so he really likes it. One thing surprised me - a lot of these cooks smoke. I don't watch that many reality shows so I don't know if it is that odd or not. Just that, I thought smoking kills your taste buds. If that is true, how can these people be creative cooks?

I was thinking the same thing. I hate smokers and I hope they are washing their hands before perparing food.

i like smokers,
but i admit, it does seem odd for someone who relies on their sense of taste to do something to diminish it.
but then again, Beethoven was composing, and performing music, and conducting orchestras, after he was totallydeaf.
at some point food, like music, gives way to true artistry.
i haven't watched Hell's Kitchen, but i really like Ramsey's BBC show where he attempts to rescue failing restaurants. the guy really seems to care about these poor owners, and more often than not, they FIGHT his attempts to save them. very interesting studies in human nature. and compelling tv.

Anyone watch the finale? I was REALLY glad Dave won. I think Kevin's final menu fit the style of Araxi / Chef Ramsey's restaurant but Dave really made a sharp move by keeping it all simple. I do hope all this hasn't permanently injured his wrist though

I'm glad he won too. I tghink he earned a ton of respect for working through his pain.

I missed it!! I shouldn't have read this thread , cause now I know who won!! I use to hate this show, but my husband likes it because he has been a head chef in two restaurants and he knows how it can get. Though, I say Gordon Ramsey is arrogant and I never liked him until I started watching his show the F Word on BBC America. He is totally different on that show, and he isn't too bad on Kitchen Nightmares, either - but I can take him or leave him on Hell's Kitchen!!

Yeah, the first time I saw Hell's Kitchen, I did not care for it much. I caught the F word on BBC a few times and like it and him a lot more.
Who knew kitchens could be so dramatic.
